A sweet military family’s baby story {Fairfax County maternity, newborn, family photographer}

I was honored to capture this young family before, during, and after the beautiful mama’s pregnancy.  I met with Whitney and Neal for a couple’s session just before Neal deployed, and they shared their hope — to have a baby on the way before he left.

I was overjoyed when, a few weeks later, Whitney shared the news we had hopefully photographed at their session:

Whitney faithfully documented her pregnancy while Neal was gone, and at around the 32-week point, we met again for her maternity session.  She had made wise use of her time– reading, researching, and taking classes to prepare for baby’s arrival.  She was the most prepared mom-to-be I’d ever met!

I saw baby Caleb for the first time at his newborn session.  He had arrived about a week before his due date and a couple of days before Neal was scheduled to come home on leave.  Neal had 2 weeks at home with Whitney and their adorable little man, and I was so glad I got to help capture that fleeting time for them.

Neal headed back to duty for a few more months, but I can gladly report that he’s home now, safe and sound, and their story continues!

Hi there

I am an Air Force veteran and an Army spouse, and we recently relocated to Northern VA. I've been a photographer since 2012, so if some of my work looks like it's in CO or GA ... it is!
